  •  Jain Health Care Workshop
          Date: 08/08/2010
Venue: Maharashtra Seva sangh hall, Mulund
    • One of our committee member showed us the statistics of Jains with diseases and that is when we realized that most of those illness are preventable or at least postponable. That moment we decided not only to increase the life expectancy of jain but also to make that life healthier. We picked up some young doctors from our community; all of whom have excelled in their fields at very young age. The topics selected were those which were most ignored but most important. Importance of balanced diet & exercise, stress i.e anxiety, phobia and depression, spine and joint care and oral hygiene. As we see almost everyone of us requires awareness in one or more of these subjects, the only concern was how much interest would our people show in these seminar which might seem dry to many. To add to these there were many people with Siddhitap and that day was Beshna. But people response was much better than our expectations and the venue was nearly packed to capacity. We were very pleased to see our people interested in improvement of their health and it is these interest which motivates us to do more and more work for improving lifestyle of every Jain in this world. All the lectures were well timed and presented, people were nicely involved till the very end. Prominent Doctors also attended the event as guests and gave their wishes to JYF and appreciated the entire event. Even we learnt that by small and simple changes in our day to day life we can improve our life both by quantity and quality. Post event feedback was overwhelming. We hope our people continue to motivate us support us in our work towards betterment of jains.
